AMARTA II is a USAID funded program that aims to improve the competitiveness of the value chains of three high-value commodities: Coffee, Cocoa and Horticultural crops and to increase the access to credit of small holder farmers in these three sectors.
 
The project will work extensively with local government, farmers groups, marketing companies, processors, input suppliers and other stakeholders to increase the income of the whole sector and the proportion of income retained by farmers.
 
Our project and offices are in Medan, Makassar, Bandung, and our National Office is located in Jakarta.
 
We are currently seeking experienced professionals to fill the Cocoa Program Coordinator based in Makassar.
 

Assignment Objectives and Specific Tasks:

The Cocoa Program Coordinator (CPC) role involves a variety of responsibilities including:
1. The provision of cocoa technical skill and knowledge and have good understanding related to adult learning process;
2. Responsible for ensuring reporting activities by Field Coordinator is timely and supports the capacity to measure impact in AMARTA II programs via monitoring and evaluation system.
3. His role extends to managing and coordinating with all Field Coordinator in all aspect of logistical support for training activities, reviewing and updating training materials.

 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Management and Supervisory Roels
    - Manage and supervise Field Coordinator in Southeast Sulawesi, and West Sulawesi (possibly to provide technical and monitoring support to other cocoa program activities);
    -Assist and coordinate with Field Coordinator at field level interventions, attend monthly meetings and summarize key issues, solutions and next step.

2. Program Planning & Development
    - Work closely with Cocoa Value Chain Leader and other AMARTA II staff, technical staff from AMARTA II partners and local government and potential stakeholder;
   - Support in collecting and input data of current location and of potential expansion or improvement of AMARTA II activities.

3. Monitoring Responisbilities
    -Visit AMARTA II program areas on a reguler basis to ensure that all activities are running according to the project guidelines and scheduled by Field Coordinator;
    - Submit monthly reports to Cocoa Value Chain Leader program progress, key issues and measurement of project impact against programs indicators. Ensure sufficient data is collected from Field Coordinator to measure program impact. This will include formal and informal farmer attendance (son, wife, etc) collection of cocoa sales, volumes sold by farmers; and basic data from borrowers, etc;
    - Meet with AMARTA II stakeholders (Armajaro, OLAM, DiSBUN) on a monthly basis to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the trainers and to address any training issues. Cocoa Program Coordinator will be advises of the manner in which this shall occur once training activities/stakeholderroles and responsibilities have been further developed;
    - Meet with all Field Coordinator on a monthly basis to review their monthly, address any problems experienced in the field and keep them informed of any developments or issues. Submit reports written and oral to Cocoa Value Chain Leader as issue arise with recommendations;
    - Actively collect and compile qualitative data example how AMARTA II program providing benefit to farmers i.e. farmer testimonial, field research, farmer story, success stories. These submissions should be submitted in draft to the Cocoa Value Chain Leader for review;
    - Review and summaries the main points from all monthly reports from AMARTA II stakeholders before sending them on to the Cocoa Value Chain Leader who will review them prior to submission to the COP. Ensure that reports must be submitted on time and based on AMARTA II standard.

4. Reporting Responsibilities
    - Bi-weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting will be submitted to Cocoa Value Chain Leader;
    - Provide support and information data as instructed by Cocoa Value Chain Leader;
    - Collect and produce success stories, farmer testimonials;
    - Write incidental reports as necessary and directed.

Deliverables:
- Supporting in submission of semi-annual and annualproject reports relevant to the cocoa program activities;
- Preparation and submission of project success stories;
- Preparation and submission of Monitoring and Evaluation reports based on AMARTA II indicators;
- Tracking and reporting of the support activities for cocoa interventions in Sulawesi.

Project Authorit:
The Cocoa Program Coordinator will take direction from and report directly to the Cocoa Value Chain Leader/AMARTA II Chief of Party (COP).
 
Requirements:
- Bachelor or equivalent in Economics, Development Studies, Project Management or related with 5 years experiences of relevant experiencein project management in the agricultural sector with line management experience, developing and implementing Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) systemsin  development projects is required;
- Demonstrated ability in setting up and implementing M&E systems. Have skills well understanding of M&E methodology and knowledgein operated statistic and database software;
- Knowledge of development program planning, particularly use of design tool such as logical framework;
- Has good understanding in adult training process and management skills and experience and interested in working by teamand manage people
- Excellent writing skills required. Fluent Bahasa Indoneisa language skills and fluency in English language required;
- Information management skills (Word Processing and spreadsheet application skills) and demonstrated interpersonal and team work skills.
